Sunday Fun-day

I hit the jackpot at F21 yesterday, this lace crop-top is the EPITOME of Spring/Summer 2012! It was such a steal that I got it in black & cream (: They also had cute bandeaus (which are so hard to find) for $3!!! So I snagged one for under tanks or my crop-tops! Love love love this outfit & I got a purple flower print skirt for my black lace shirt. Super excited to show yall soon! Everything I'm wearing is from F21, except my Steve Madden sandals. And this necklace. Can we talk about THAT for a second? It look so high-end but it was less than $10! Holy wow it's my new favorite item. Happy shopping, xoxo KG!

Boho Chic

Today was a really chilly spring day, and when I don't want to be constrained to jeans all day I choose a maxi & layer! It's cozy and cute! My dress and necklace are from F21, my sweater is from Old Navy & my sandals are Sam Edelman (who I ADORE)! Happy shopping, xoxo KG!

Style Spotlight: Kelly Kapowski

"What goes around, comes around" is definitely the case with fashion right now. And the queen of the 90's, none other than Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Amber Thiessen) from Saved By The Bell, is the perfect example. Crop tops, bandeaus, high-waisted pants and floral jeans galore...dig 'em out from your closets cause they're baaaack! Now, being a child growing up in the 90's, obviously all of my old clothes are way too little for me so I'll have to do my vintage shopping elsewhere. It's actually a little scary to me just how many things from the 80's and 90's are coming back into fashion right now. Neon, oversized clothes with leggings, sportswear, and the swimsuit hybrid to name a few.

Alright, now lets find some deals in the stores! Here are some crop-tops and floral jeans I found online, happy shopping xoxo KG!

Beauty Haul.

So I'm a little lax on the outfit of the day thing because I've gotten back into my work out routine so when I'm at work I'm doing some Pilates and then hitting up the gym straight after. So I promise I'll load up this weekend on lots of my new outfits (: But this package from Sephora literally JUST came in the mail & I'm super stoked! I got the new Smashbox BB Cream, Urban Decay Lip Junkie lip gloss & Soap & Glory Lotion. Bb Cream is the newest thing in makeup & came over here from Asia! It's supposed to perfect, prime, protect, conceal, moisturize ANNND control oil! I'm so excited to try this for the summer instead of wearing my full foundation! It also has 35 SPF so it's a summer must-have! Now the lip gloss I got a mini trial size with my Naked 2 palette & it's minty and never stays sticky after it wears off! I have oily skin & I read about the Soap & Glory lotion in Seventeen Magazine so I decided to try it! It's supposed to absorb the ioil underneath your makeup to keep you shine free! Happy shopping, xoxo KG!

Hi-low

I don't know how I feel about hi-low dresses/skirts but I'm kinda liking this one. I usually give them the more affectionate nickname of "mullet dresses" so you might see me use that later on. But I got several compliments on this one today! Dress is Nordstrom Rack and shoes are Bandalino! Happy shopping, xoxo KG!

Haul!

I had some time to kill in between babysitting jobs so OF COURSE I went shopping (: I went to Nordstrom Rack & came out with some of Spring's biggest trends. Mint, cut-outs & capped shoes! These wedges are super cute & I figured I'd wear them a lot in the future for job interview types events when I have to be more professional than fashionista (; More hauls to come because I went on an online shopping binge at F21! Happy shopping, xoxo KG!

Happy White Pants Season!

I usually use Easter as the official start of "white pants season", so if you don't have any you better run out and get some! I got mine at Nordstrom Rack & I love them, I paired it with a shirt from World Market that my mom put in my Easter basket (: Before I remembered I had bought some, I tried on this outfit with my skinny jeans so that's what the other picture is. Happy shopping, xoxo KG

Getting Thrifty

Like I mentioned in my long-winded post, my friend Whitney was in town & we got a little crafty! Her blog is awesome & she has tons of DIY projects (RootedinHisgrace.blogspot)! So we went to Habitat for Humanity & found this great cabinet for my apartment in Auburn, that would be perfect above my toilet! We got it for $15 when one like it would've been close to $100 in regular stores. This whole project costed $15 because her family already had the perfect black paint! It's not totally finished, we're going to put wallpaper on the inside & then I'll hang some hooks for my styling tools inside! So here's some pictures from my weekend (: xoxo KG

Easter.

Easter is always a great service at my church & it's always been one of my favorites. This Easter, however, was bittersweet...we lost our church to the Episcopal so we'll have to leave the building soon. I won't get bogged down with all the details, but it was hard to say the least. So I had a fabbbulous weekend because my best friend I've known since freshman year of high school was home for 2 days! One of our favorite things to do together is get crafty, so we hit up Habitat for Humanity & random thrift stores! I'll save that for the next post but here's my Easter outfit, Cynthia Rowley dress, Nordstrom Rack sweater!

Its Not Easy Being Green.

Kelly green is officially one of my new favorite colors. I've always been a blue girl & green has never really caught my eye, but now I'm starting to pay attention. Between Chartruese & Kelly...green is creeping it's way to the top of my list. This light jacket is perfect for spring & I wear it a lot to top of my outfits. And it certainly brigs a pop of color to my classic black & white look today. My jacket is from Target (comes in like 3 other colors!!!), my shirt is from Delia*s, pants arefrom Nordstrom Rack & my shoes are Steve Madden! Oh! And my bow is from Target (: Happy shopping, xoxo KG!

Back To The Grind.

I'm a full-time nanny, so when I get up before the sun I usually put on work-out clothes (ya know, in order to spark the idea that I'll actually work out that day). So here's another outfit that I'm LOVING. Selena Gomez in a stunning Dolce & Gabbana number at the Kid's Choice Awards. Now crop-tops & two piece outfits are completely an utterly the "thing". And this one is ammmmazing. Understated jewelry so all the focus is on the blinged out skirt, and I mean course the steamy songtress says "I wouldn't wanna be anybody else"....have you SEEEN yourself? *signofenvy* xoxo KG

Beauty Faves.

I'm not a beauty blogger, but a girl's best friend is make-up sooo any tips we can get help right? So these are some of the things I will NEVER change or go without! First is the Loreal Magic Lumi Primer, it catches the light & makes your skin glow! I've tried tons from Sephora but I like this the best! Then there's the Garnier under-eye roller with a touch of concealer...THE BEST THING EVER. I have such dark circles (curse you genes) and this is the only thing that has ever made them disappear in all my years of wearing make-up! I put a layer on & then put my real concealer on (which the Maybelline FIT one featured above). The circle container is Laura Mercier secret brightening powder & I put a layer on top of my concealer & it sets it for the whole day! I've always had problems w/ concealer smearing or whatever but this does the trick of keeping it in place! The concealer I mentioned before is fabulous, like I said I have really dark circles so I've tried pretty much every concealer out there & this drugstore brand is amaze-balls. Then my newest fav is the Revlon Lip Butter, the best lip color. Hands down. I have 2 colors (this one's Peach Parfait), it's so soft & it doesn't fade or clump together!

SPRING IS HERE.

That's what this outfit shouts haha, just a little wake up call! I got this dress from Marshalls, my shoes are from Off Broadway Shoes and my earrings are from Francesca's Collections! I pair this with a light turquiose sweater b/c it was a little chilly this morning. Color-blocking is just another one of the many trends for Spring, so go wild! Happy shopping, xoxo KG
